primaryIs KMC appropriate for primary school pupils?

Yes, for those who are in years Five and Six. The outdoor environment at KMC provides them with an opportunity to enhance their personal and social development. For example, they will learn to work together as a team from climbing in a gorge to helping with the serving of food at mealtimes. The structure of the week at KMC enables children to become better organisers and more tolerant towards others. For some this could be their one and only opportunity to climb a mountain!

If you are looking for an opportunity to do some real education then the mountain environment, the study of rivers or of a seaside resort all necessary at Key Stage 2 Geography, then there is no better place to visit.

Children return to their home environment with a sense of awe and wonder, not only from being in a beautiful area but also from all the achievements gained, whether it is climbing Snowdon or just the experience of being away from home. They will want to come back for more. We have six current users from the Primary Sector many of whom have been coming to us for years. When they progress onto Secondary Education we know that many return for a second bite of the apple.

If you are interested in learning more - we can arrange for someone with experience of bringing a Primary Group to KMC to speak to you or even visit your school.
